यदि ind.
1 If, in case(showing condition, and in this sense generally used with the potential mood, but sometimes also with the future or present tense; it is usually followed by तर्ही and sometimes by ततः, तदा, तद् or अत्र); प्राणैस्तपोभिरथवा- भिमतं मदीयैः कृत्यं घटेत सुहृदो यदि तत्कृतं स्यात् ॥ Māl. 1. 9; वदासे यदि किंचिदपि दंतरुचिकौमुदी हरति दरतिमिरम- तिघोरं Gīt. 10; यत्ने कृते यदि न सिद्ध्यति कोत्र (= कस्तर्हि) दोषः H. Pr. 31.
