यव [यु-अच्]
1 Barley; यवाः प्र- कीर्णा न भवंति शालयः Mk. 4. 17.
2 A barley-corn or the weight of a barley-corn.
3 A measure of length equal to (1/6) or (1/3) of an angula.
4 A mark on the fingers of the hand resembling a barley-corn and supposed according to its position to indicate wealth, progeny, good fortune &c.
