शङ्खिनी 1 A woman of one of the four classes into which writers on erotic science divide women; the Ratimañjarī thus describes her:-दीर्घातिदीर्घनयना वरसुंदरी या कामोपभोगरसि- का गुणशीलयुक्ता । रेखात्रयेण च विभूषितकं- ठदेशा सभोगकेलिर संका किल शंखिनी सा ॥ cf. चित्रिणी, हस्तिनी, and पद्मिनी also.
